Hello!

Alternative Energy

all the different types of renewable energy

"Renewable Energy is energy from a source that is not depleted when used." Some example of this include solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass.

Renewable Energy is a reliable power supply that helps conserve the nation's natural resources. This energy reduces types of air pollution and does not produce greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels. When fossil fuels are burned, they result in high levels of greenhouse gasses and other pollutants. One major benifit is that renewable enrgy minimizes Climate Change.

Even as more people are using more renewable energy sources, fossil fuels are the largest source for energy, specifically, natural gas (which is about 40%).

Sources of U.S. Electricity Generation in 2020

Solar Power

Solar power is energy from the sun that is converted into thermal or electrical energy y the yuse of solar panels which can supply light or a comfortable interior environment and heating water in a home.

Wind Power

Wind Energy or Wind Power both desrcibe the process of wind genertion mechanical power. Then, we could convert this mechanical power into electricity.

Did you know: the fastest gust of wind ever recorded on Earth was 253 miles per hour?

Hydroelectric Energy

The process of hydroelectric energy is when flowing water turns into mechanical energy by the use of a hydraulic turbine. Then, this mechanical power can convert into electricity.

Geothermal Energy

Geothermal energy refers to the thermal or heat energy inside the earth. We use this energy for bathing, generating electricity, to heat buildings, and more.

Biomass Energy

Biomass energy is energy that is produced by living or once-living organisms. Some common sources for biomass energy include...
